As per as NSW Government’s EV Strategy plans New South Wales government currently offering various EV fleets incentives for businesses and developers.
Businesses situated in regional local government areas may have the opportunity to receive co-funding from the NSW Government to support the acquisition and installation of up to four electric vehicle (EV) chargers through the NSW Destination charging grants scheme. To apply for these grants, businesses can visit energysaver.nsw.gov.au/EVdestinationgrants.
The “Drive electric NSW EV fleets incentive” is a significant investment of $105 million aimed at helping NSW organizations transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and reduce emissions. This incentive supports the purchase of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) and offers additional funds for smart base charging.
Through a reverse auction process, this incentive assists organizations in covering the cost of transitioning their fleet’s passenger, light commercial, or sports utility vehicles to BEVs or FCEVs. It is an opportunity that businesses, not-for-profits, hire companies, and local councils in NSW should not miss.
If your organization leases vehicles and lacks the capability to apply directly, you can still benefit from this incentive by working with a fleet aggregator. These aggregators can submit bids on behalf of multiple fleets, and if successful, the savings from the incentive must be passed on to their customers. This streamlines the application process and facilitates a smoother transition to EVs for businesses.
