We’re delighted to announce that EV PowerHouse has partnered with trace (@our_trace) to become a Climate Positive Organisation! This means that we have measured the carbon emissions of our buildings and travel and offset those emissions through certified carbon credits and tree planting. At EV PowerHouse we are passionate about sustainability and do what we can to minimise harm to our planet through [e.g. recycling waste, minimising unnecessary travel] and this represents the next step on our sustainability journey. This month we’re going a step further running a staff net zero campaign to measure and reduce our personal carbon footprint. Climate positive vs carbon neutral
We use the term 'climate positive' rather than 'carbon neutral' for three key reasons:

It is inherently more POSITIVE and we think the climate change narrative needs some optimism!
B
We prefer to slightly overestimate your emissions to ensure you have offset more than your footprint which means you have a net positive (rather than neutral) impact.
C
‘Carbon neutral’ is often used in conjunction with government certification which is costly and time consuming – we help brands that can’t afford this by helping you become climate positive in a matter of days.
What it means to be climate positive
Being a climate positive brand means we are working to minimise the negative environmental impacts of doing business and have chosen to offset our unavoidable emissions.
Why? Because carbon offsets are a highly effective way of reducing CO2 pollution in communities across the world. Without the funds received from the carbon credits we buy, many biodiversity projects would not be feasible, mangrove forests could not be restored, rural communities could not afford to install and operate wind farms, African communities would burn wood to get clean water and remote industrial towns would have to resort to fossil fuels. How does offsetting with trace work?
