MG4 EV Chargers and Cables

The MG4 is MG’s first car to use the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) and boasts a rear-wheel drive, 50:50 weight distribution, and small battery technology. MG4 is also one of the most affordable electric cars on the market. It comes in Excite 51, Excite 64, Essence 64 and Long Range 77 variants where the number at the end represents the battery pack in kWh. Each MG4 variant comes with all Type 2 ports for AC charging and CCS 2 ports for DC charging. These configurations enable all our Type 2 EV chargers and cables fully compatible with any variant of MG4 electric car.

MG4 Charging Speed

The MG4 Excite 51, Excite 64, and Essence 64 variants have a battery power limit of 6.6 KW. This means that if you use a 7.4KW or 22KW charge point, it can only supply 6.6KW due to the onboard limit.
Whereas, the MG4 Long range 77 has an 11 KW battery power limit now this case to to charge at the maximum rate(i.e. 11 KW) a 22 KW charger or charge point is capable of doing so.

Note: EV battery size impacts charging time. Larger batteries take longer to charge due to higher capacity, but offer longer distances between charges, potentially shortening total charge time. Keeping the battery between 20% and 80% is advised for faster charging. Also, the (†) On-board charging limits as well as the charge point power limit greatly defines charging times. Low temperatures and fast chargers may slightly increase charging duration, but less relevant in mild climates.
