Ford E-Transit EV Chargers and Cables

EV Type: All Electric

Ford E-transit Van is all electric and comes with a Type 2  port for AC charging and CCS2 for fast DC charging. This configuration enables all of our EV chargers and cables to be fully compatible with the Ford E-transit van in Australia.

A 68 kWh battery pack powers a single-speed gearbox and an RWD electric motor for a range of 202 KMs on the low-roof cargo van model of the vehicle. Not a lot of options to pick from when it comes to the E-Transit battery. The E-Transit is a rear-wheel drive vehicle; hence the motor and control units are located behind the back axle and under the nose, giving it a low centre of gravity.

Ford E-Transit Van EV Charging Speed

The Ford E-transit Van has a battery power limit of 11KW. This means that if you use a 22KW charge point, it can only supply 11KW due to the onboard limit. On the other hand, if you charge using a 7KW charger, the charge point would limit the charge and only supply 7KW.
The table below provides Ford E-Transit EV Chargers and Cables AC charging time and rates for batteries from 0% to 100%.
Charging Point Max Power Power Time to Charge Rate
Wall Plug (2.3 KW) 230V / 1x10A 2.3KW29h33m9km/h
1-phase 16A (3.7 KW) 230V / 1x16A 3.7KW18h22m16km/h
1-phase 32A (7.4 KW) 230V /1x32A 7.4KW9h11m32km/h
3-phase 32A (22 KW) 400V / 3x32A 11KW6h10m47km/h

Note: EV battery size impacts charging time. Larger batteries take longer to charge due to higher capacity, but offer longer distances between charges, potentially shortening total charge time. Keeping the battery between 20% and 80% is advised for faster charging. Also, the (†) On-board charging limits as well as the charge point power limit greatly defines charging times. Low temperatures and fast chargers may slightly increase charging duration, but less relevant in mild climates.

Ford E-Transit Van EV Home Charging

  • Faster AC charging speeds: Home charging units are faster than the TCL chargers that come with your EV so that you can get back on the road more quickly.
  • More convenient charging: You can quickly and conveniently charge your Ford E-transit Van from the comfort of your home. This means you don’t have to worry about finding a public charging station or waiting in line to charge your EV.
  • Potential cost savings: It often allows you to take advantage of lower, off-peak electricity rates, saving you money in the long run.

Solar Charging for Ford E-Transit Van EV

  1. Take advantage of cost-effective ways to reduce your carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.
  2. By using a “green-only charging” option (allowing the Ford E-transit Van to use only solar energy generated by the solar panel), the cost of “charging” the EV with normal power means is eliminated.
  3. Take a break from the ever-increasing price of electrical energy.
