Home / car-guides / Chery EV Charging Australia / Chery Omoda 5
The Chery Omoda 5 EV is set to make its debut in the Australian market in mid-2024, bringing a unique design compared to its petrol counterpart. Positioned as a rival to the BYD Atto 3, this Chinese-made electric SUV boasts an impressive claimed range of up to 450 kilometres, based on the overseas model’s utilization of a 61kWh battery pack. The specifics of whether this quoted battery size is gross or a more realistic usable (net) figure remain unclear, adding an element of anticipation to the Omoda 5 EV’s arrival.
Notably, the Omoda 5 EV features a peak DC fast charging speed of 110kW, allowing for a rapid 30-minute charge from 0 to 80 per cent. Under the hood, a single electric motor generates 150kW and 340Nm, resulting in a claimed acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in a swift 7.6 seconds. The inclusion of a Type 2 port for AC charging and a CCS2 port for DC charging enhances the Omoda 5 EV’s charging flexibility, ensuring compatibility with our all EV Chargers and Cables.

We also provide charging time and rates for custom levels of batteries.
Note: EV battery size impacts charging time. Larger batteries take longer to charge due to higher capacity, but offer longer distances between charges, potentially shortening total charge time. Keeping the battery between 20% and 80% is advised for faster charging. Also, the (†) On-board charging limits as well as the charge point power limit greatly defines charging times. Low temperatures and fast chargers may slightly increase charging duration, but less relevant in mild climates.
