Honda: Japanese Engineering at its finest.
Honda’s history began immediately after the Second World War when the Japanese engineer Honda Soichiro created the Honda Technical Research Institute to help develop internal combustion engines in-house without needing to import them.
The Honda Institute became the Honda Motor Company in 1948 and for the first 15 years of its existence, it focused its resources on motorcycle production and only manufactured its first automobile in 1963.
If you’re in the market for a Honda electric vehicle, then you’ll be happy to learn that Honda offers one of the cleanest EV designs in Australia, and they’ve managed to create a car that’s impossible to hate with their Honda e electric hatchback.
Unfortunately, getting the Honda e in Australia might be easier said than done because Honda does not plan to sell this vehicle through traditional Honda dealers in Australia, and the only way you can get your hands on one is through independent outfits that are important to them for retail.
Hopefully, Honda and its Australian dealers commit to bringing more electric vehicle variants into our country from 2022 onwards, until then we have to enjoy the Honda e in limited units.
